Anxiety5

Hi, my name is Marrissa. Brooklyn born and raised, married, dog mama, and suffering from GAD, also known as Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I have been dealing with anxiety my whole life. From a young age, there has been multiple factors that played a big role in my anxiety today, some of which I wasn’t even aware of. I was able to navigate through those factors during my time in psychotherapy over the last two years. I specifically suffer from “Health Anxiety”, also commonly know as “Hypochondria”, which is essentially living in the constant fear of dying or suffering from an illness you don’t have. Therapy and medication have helped, but the most work I had to put in on my own. There is no quick fix to curing anxiety. You have to make conscious changes. You can learn structure, healthy routines, and thought replacement. You can take daily natural supplements, exercise, eat clean and focus on self care. You have to remember you can overcome this and take control back of your life. It can feel like you’re going through this alone, but there are millions of people suffering from this. When you’re going through anxiety or depression, it’s important to feel a sense of community, which I never felt I had most of the time. My family and friends are “supportive” but they could never truly understand what I was going through because they haven’t experience this for themselves. Fortunately for them, because I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. My husband sympathized but didn’t really know how to handle it at first. It becomes an issue in our everyday life and relationships.
